Uploading Files Using the Windows Auto-Installer

Please follow the instructions below.

Download Installer File

To use the auto-installer you must first download the installer file.

  • Log into your member account here.
  • Click on the LICENSES link and find the RSS BOOKMARKER license.
  • On the license page, scroll to the bottom to view your download options.
  • Download one of the file named rssbmkinstaller.zip

Run Installer

After you downoad the file, unzip it to your desktop. Then just double-click the icon to start the install. During the install you will be asked for some specific data about your server:

Installation Type

Choose INSTALL TO A REMOTE MACHINE to install on your server.
Select "install to a remote machine"

Remote Server Details

Here you will just enter your access information for your server.

  • FTP Server Address: ftp.yourdomain.com
  • FTP Username: This is your server FTP username
  • FTP Password: This is your server FTP password
  • Install Location: This is where you want to run RSS Bookmarker from. The default is set to “bookmarking” so it will be located at http://yourdomain.com/bookmarking/.
  • Install Folder: This is the server folder where you want to install the script. On most servers you should enter “public_html”. You can also click BROWSE to choose another folder on your server.

Install Location URL: This is the full url where the script will reside. Just enter http://www.yourdomain.com/.

Ready To Install

Once you enter your install location click NEXT and then INSTALL. This will begin the actual process of uploading all files to your server.

Once the installation is complete, you will be forwarded to the registration page where you enter your MYSQL datbase information. Please proceed to Step 3: Registration.
